Brewpoint Coffee

When I (Melissa Villanueva) was working in the corporate world after college, I felt like something was missing. Then I met my now-husband, Angelo, who encouraged me to follow my dreams. That's when I realized that I wanted to open a coffee shop. To me, coffee shops are more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee - they're a hub for building community.

One day, as I was browsing Craigslist for an espresso machine, I stumbled upon a coffee shop that seemed too good to be true. My boyfriend and I decided to check it out, and we knew right away that it was an opportunity we couldn't pass up. In September 2014, we opened the first Brewpoint Coffee shop, which we now call Brewpoint Founders Café. We didn't have a detailed business plan or a lot of money, but we were committed to learning and growing every day.

Now, almost eight years later, Brewpoint Coffee has grown into a thriving coffee company with four coffee shops, a coffee roastery, a premier event space, and a book called Starting and Running a Coffee Shop. It's not just a business to us - it's a platform and ecosystem for building the world we want to see.

As a coffee lover, I believe that coffee shops are an essential part of any community. They provide a gathering place where people can connect over a delicious cup of coffee.
