Music and Blockchain: Paying Artists

Please join Convex Legal, Dan Novaes of Current Media, “Disruption Joe” Hernandez, and Columbia College’s Justin Sinkovich for a discussion of music and blockchain. The panel will address the challenges faced by artists relying on royalty payments. From auditing to receiving payments, blockchain can add transparency and reduce costs in areas that currently frustrate artists and chip away at their profits. Come hear about the latest solutions to increase transparency, cut out the middleman, and allow fans to pay the artist directly. A networking reception will follow.

Justin Sinkovich is an associate professor and the director of the graduate program in the Business and Entrepreneurship Department at Columbia College Chicago. Justin’s business ventures include the record label File 13 Records, the music discovery website Epitonic, digital marketing consulting, and producing.
